Sulphur Spider Infestation — Identifying the Risk Level
Most spiders in Sulphur homes cause no harm and need no intervention. The exceptions — Black Widow and Brown Recluse — are present across much of the US and deliver bites that require prompt medical treatment. Beyond the venom risk, a high spider count in any property is a reliable indicator that an insect population is supporting them.
The harborage zones we treat most frequently in Sulphur are garages, basements, crawlspaces, and exterior perimeter areas with vegetation, wood piles, or debris close to the structure — conditions that support both spiders and the insects they feed on.
Black Widow & Brown Recluse Identification
Black Widow identification: shiny black body, round abdomen, red hourglass marking visible on the underside. Typically found in low, dark, sheltered locations. Brown Recluse identification: uniformly light brown with a dark violin shape on the cephalothorax, and six eyes arranged in pairs rather than the standard eight. Found in undisturbed storage areas, between folded clothing, and inside boxes. Neither species should be approached without protective equipment.
How We Treat Spider Infestations in Sulphur
Before treatment begins, our Sulphur technician identifies every spider species present, assesses harborage zone distribution, and determines appropriate treatment intensity — with specific attention to whether venomous species are confirmed.
